Most fractional executives come from one world. Dennis has operated across three.

He started on the brand side - leading companies like Casio, G-Shock, Edwin Jeans, and Incase, where he learned how enterprise brands think about growth, risk, and long-term value creation. He moved to the technology side at Shopify and Art.com, where he saw firsthand how e-commerce and technology platforms and tools reshape the way brands sell. And he's spent the last several years as a CEO and strategic advisor to early-stage tech companies, helping founders turn product-market fit into repeatable go-to-market systems.

That dual perspective, understanding what brands need AND what technology enables, is what makes The Other Group different. When we advise a commerce tech company on their GTM strategy, we know what the buyer on the other side of the table is actually thinking. When we help a brand scale its DTC channel, we know which technology and partnerships will actually move the needle.

With senior leadership experience at Shopify and Firework, Dennis blends analytical rigor with a customer-centric approach. He specializes in turning complex market challenges into repeatable systems that unlock revenue and drive operational excellence.

Co-founded EverString (Inc. 5000, acquired by ZoomInfo, NYSE: GTM), where his patented innovations in predictive analytics, web crawling, and automated industry classification fueled the growth of industry leaders like MongoDB, Elastic, and Snowflake. His foundational experience includes Ph.D. research applying machine learning for NASA and GE Research, and he continues to guide companies like Landbase, Firework, and Alpha Vision as an advisor.

Yi combines deep technical acumen in AI, B2B data ecosystems, and cloud infrastructure with a proven ability to build and lead high-performing data teams, turning proprietary and third-party B2B data into a distinct competitive advantage.

Eric Richmond - Technical Advisor

Eric Richmond is Chief Architect at Basil Systems in New York City, with over 25 years of experience in technology leadership.

Eric has served as CTO at three companies that achieved successful exits: Splice, Slickdeals, and Shopify. At Shopify, he initially led B2B efforts before transitioning to the merchandising division, where he scaled his team from 10 to 80 engineers over three years.

Currently, Eric focuses on developing AI solutions at Basil Systems. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Music from Tufts University.
